Nice and cozy chalet in the mountains. The food was ok-ish. I ordered a trip soup but it tasted a bit odd and not because of the trip. The places overall is very nice
You reach Cabana Garbova after a wonderful 20-30 minute walk on the mountain. The food, the mulled wine and the coffee are modest but, considering that we are on the mountain, they are very welcome.
Just in the right place! For feeding relaxing area rest.
Good position, rather easy to access. Service can be slow when many tourists come at the same moment - especially lunch time. Menu available, food can be ordered according to what is available in stock. Don't expect to find octopus or fancy food.
Prices are rather high, but given the position of the chalet and access to it, they are rather correct. Similar prices can be found in the restaurants from the resorts around, where road access is easy, shops are nearby..
Rooms ok, according to 2* category. Warm. Simple. Not very comfortable beds, but ok for a night stay.
Dogs around - yes. Some 5-6 of them, rather friendly during the day.
Employees - quite ok, once you get to talk with them. For impolite customers - they act accordingly.
Overall - good.
The location is beautiful, the problem is that because the people are still comming, they didn't do any change, the doors that you see from outside,they have Osb as a finishing material, I didn't like it! The food wasn't so delicious as I expected! If they do a small renovation you will. Feel different!
I only stayed there for one hour, to have a rest after a tiring climb through the forest and before returning to Azuga. High prices, probably because the supply is difficult. We had two pancakes with strawberry jam, freshly taken out from the fridge, for 20 lei. The toilet is not very clean. However, the views over the mountains and the forest worth the visit. The chalet is reachable by three routes, unfortunately their markings around the chalet are very unclear. If you want to go to Gârbova from Azuga, it is a real adventure to find your way. The good thing is that at least the markings are very good in the forest. If you can, take the "cannon road" (Drumul tunului), it's the easiest and the shortest. Or, if you have an additional hour to spend, you can follow the way that Google knows: walk on the forest road by the Limbășel creek and then take the steep climb through the forest to Gârbova.
When you get trough the carpet of mud to the main entrance and get greeted by the stuff on the phone and couple of Shepard dogs, you will find out (Eater time) they are not prepared. You will be offered warm ish soup and 2 days old franzela for 17 lei and cooler beer without alcohol for 10 lei. Ardei iute 1 piece 2 lei.
A good place to stay your breath and get a meal after trekking in this area. They have good traditional food that comes quickly (in 5min top) after ordering it.
